Paul van Gemmert has been in the building industry almost thirty years.

He started out working for Strass Landscaping at age of 16. Over the next twelve years he was fortunate to learn many skills under he guidance of some of the best stone masons in Auckland.

Pauls expertise includes brick and block laying, cobble stone laying, Hinueara stone and many different types of natural stone installations eg, limestone bathrooms, sandstone patios, marble flooring, porcelain tiling, granite kitchen bench-tops. In value these projects have ranged from $5,000 to 5 million (NZD).

While working for Strass Landscaping Paul van Gemmert also implemented drainage and irrigation systems, hardscaping, landscaping, planting and earthworks.

Paul then moved to a Project Manager position of site-works for a construction firm building in prestiges areas of Auckland (Paratai Drive, Cliff Rd, Herne Bay) delivering to the highest standards of masonry residences. These projects required exacting standards and master workmanship.

Some of the projects have been commenced from bare dirt, so analysing GEO-tech and engineered plans or reports, implementing works programmes including excavation words, drainage, footings, slab pours, and the hard landscapes through to the finishing touches eg. tiling, pizza ovens and outdoor fires.

From 2005–2008 Paul worked for a traditional Italian Terrazzo flooring company. Placing, polishing and everything to do with boutique concrete.

From 2008 Paul worked for Tranquility Pools, one of the premier pool and spa construction companies in Auckland. As one of the main tilers Pauls works included mosaic tiling, coping stones, pool surrounds and infinity pooling creations.

The last four years Paul as been working for a Auckland stone and tile restoration company which involved cleaning, sealing of granite, marble, sand and lime stone.

Pauls working lifetime experience of effectively managing sub-contractors and liaising with quality tradesmen and maintaining working relationships has allowed Paul to deliver or exceed his own clients expectations. Working honestly, with integrity and ensuring clients are happy gives Paul great satisfaction.
